Lakeside Chautauqua will host gardening enthusiasts from across the Midwest for a premier event, titled Lakeside in Bloom, from Saturday, June 27-Tuesday, June 30.
Throughout this four-day event, Lakeside Chautauqua will offer lectures, workshops, cultural arts performances and a self-guided Garden Tour, showcasing private and community gardens.
The keynote speakers include Hope Taft, former First Lady of Ohio; Guy Denny, former Chief of Natural Areas & Preserves for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources; Amanda Patton, an award-winning English garden designer.
At 2 p.m. Sunday, June 28 in Orchestra Hall, Taft and Denny will present a lecture, titled ‘Painting Ohio in Broad Brushstrokes,’ with a focus on the vision, construction and upkeep of the Ohio Governor’s Residence and Heritage Garden in Columbus, Ohio.
