An Ohio Historical Marker will be placed at the corner of Walnut Avenue and Fifth Street to honor the service of the Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department.
A dedication ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7. All are invited to attend.
The Ohio Historical Markers Program, established in the 1950s, encompasses more than 1,500 unique markers that tell the state’s history as written by communities.
Markers are erected by local community sponsors in partnership with the Ohio History Connection and describe the people, places, things and events of Ohio’s past. There are 20-30 new markers placed each year.
