Lakeside Chautauqua was recently recognized as a Tree City USA community at the Northwest Ohio awards ceremony hosted by the Village of West Unity and their Tree Commission.
This is the fifth time our Chautauqua community has been honored with this nationally-recognized award.
The awards were presented to Tree City USA communities by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry.
Last year, during roundtable discussions with Lakeside Chautauqua President/CEO Kevin Sibbring, we continuously heard requests to update the Hotel Lakeside lobby restrooms.
We took your concerns into consideration and hired contractors to update the restrooms for you this summer.
Over the past few weeks, the bathrooms have been gutted to the studs and subflooring and ceilings have been replaced.
The contractors are working hard to finish the project before Mother’s Day weekend, when Lakeside will welcome families to the Hotel Lakeside Dining Room for a Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet.
This week, the contractors will start to lay tile, add toilets and sinks, and install wiring for fixtures. Lastly, paint will be added to refresh the look.
Thanks to your generous support on #GivingTuesday, we’ve already started work on the new Teen Center, which will be located in the Lower Pavilion Room, across from Dockside.
Over the past few weeks, extensive wiring has been completed to allow for new lighting fixtures and additional fans to be installed.
The construction crew has also been busy creating a gaming space for teens by creating new walls in the massive space.
The ceiling was recently painted, and the painting crew is now finishing up the walls.
The Teen Center will eventually be filled with bright, colorful furniture. In a corner, a small stage will be added for small coffee shop-style readings and musical performances.
