Rick Dziak croppedRick Dziak was born and raised in Marblehead, Ohio. Ask him about his first Lakeside experience, and he simply replies that Lakeside was “always there” – he worked at the drug store with his mother before it became The Shade Tree, he attended school on Walnut Avenue for the first four years of elementary school and moved to the school now on Route 163, and he even sold his first painting at the Lakeside Art Show in 1961.

Dziak has loved painting since he was in elementary school, where Eleanor Durr was his art teacher. Unfortunately, art was only a part of the curriculum up to the sixth grade. Determined to follow his passion, he asked for a set of oil paints for Christmas when he was 14, and Santa obliged.

Week 10 Chautauqua Lecture Series: In Pursuit of Knowledge

From August 22-25, 2016, this exciting Chautauqua Lecture Series theme will provide off-site educational experiences in collaboration with historical and cultural sites in Ohio, including the Liberty Aviation Museum, the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums at Spiegel Grove, the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge and the Mazza Museum.

Off-Site Visit Information:
Each tour will start at the site, begin at the time indicated and last 90-120 minutes. Pre-registration and a small fee to cover the cost of the tour are required. Registration for each off-site visit will close when the maximum capacity is reached or by 4 p.m. the day before the visit, whichever comes first.
