Art is a way for people to express themselves, think outside the box and stretch their creativity beyond limits. It allows you to see the world through someone else’s eyes and connect, all with a paintbrush.
This year, artist Molly Constein is featuring two paintings in the Lakeside Art Show. Her original artwork will be on display now through July 27 in the lobby of Hoover Auditorium.
Constein was born in 1978 with Cerebral Palsy, a group of disorders that affect a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture, but she doesn’t let that define her.
She’s a tender-hearted, quick-witted woman who always knows what to say to brighten your day. She’s very involved with her art and is always willing to try new things.
Constein has been painting for 10 years, mostly using acrylic and watercolor-based paint, creating her designs on canvas, paper and wood. One of her favorite projects is using a metal cutter to create metal critters, including butterflies and lizards.
