Miniature Golf Course & Sloopy’s Perfetto Sauce Named ‘Best of Lake Erie’

Staff Blogger: Alexandrea Stelzer, Director of Marketing

Best of Lake Erie 2015 LogoLake Erie Living magazine recently announced the ‘Best of Lake Erie’ in Ohio, Ontario, New York, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

We’re proud to announce that Lakeside’s newly renovated miniature golf course was named ‘Best Mini-Golf’ and Sloopy’s Sports Café’s Perfetto sauce was named ‘Best Sauce’ in the August/September issue.

The issue contains both editors’ picks and readers’ picks. The miniature golf course was one of 50 editors’ picks.

“Lakeside is one of our favorite places on the lake,” said Lake Erie Living Editor Colleen Smitek, who makes a point of visiting with her family at least once a summer. “Your mini-golf course, being right on the water, was already on our list for our ‘Best of Lake Erie’ issue. Then, you made it even better with the renovation over last winter. There is truly no place like it.”

This honor wouldn’t be possible without the community’s support on #GivingTuesday last year to raise money for this renovation.

Congratulations to Brad Corbin and Sloopy’s Sports Café, as well as other local winners, including Port Clinton as one of the “Best Port Towns;” Kelleys Island State Park as one of the “Best State Parks;” Vermilion and Sandusky as two of the “Best Towns;” Perry’s Victory & International Peace Memorial and the Marblehead Lighthouse as two of the “Best Historic Sites;” Marblehead Lighthouse as one of the “Best Lighthouses” and Bay Point Resort as one of the “Best Builders.”

The full list of winners is listed in the August/September 2015 issue of Lake Erie Living .
