NEW! Online Registration for Private Lessons & Watercraft Rentals

Summer 2025 brings online registration enhancements for private lessons (tennis with Steve Vaughan and swim lessons) and watercraft rentals. Private tennis and pickleball lessons will be available soon. Visit lakesideohio.com/registration and click on “Private Lessons” and “Waterfront Rentals” respectively.

These are new sections of Lakeside’s existing registration system from ACTIVE Works, LLC. If you registered for a Rhein Center class, recreation program or education field trip in 2024, you will use the same account login (email associated with ACTIVE) and password during checkout. If you are new to ACTIVE, simply book your private lesson or reserve a boat, and an account will be created at the end of the transaction.

The greatest advantage of this new system is the ability to reserve your private lesson or watercraft rental in advance, at your convenience, any time of the day. There’s no need to wait for the offices to open or stand in line when there’s a crowd.

The system encompasses the entire summer season, allowing you to book a private lesson for the next day, reserve a boat for the same day or plan for later in the summer. Walk-up watercraft rentals remain an option if boats are available. Guests can also book private lessons at the Williams Tennis Campus or Grindley Aquatic & Wellness Campus Pool. Private lesson bookings close a day in advance.

Instructions for checking out are listed on the reservation website. One thing to note is that only one type of boat or lesson and one participant at a time are permitted per transaction. This is a system safeguard designed by the software developer to manage inventory and avoid overbooking.

To register for a second type of boat or lesson, a second boat rental for the same time, or a second family member, the confirmation page has a link that brings you back to the rental page to begin a new transaction. For assistance with consolidating large orders, contact re**********@**********io.com.

Boat rentals are by watercraft, so if more than one person is sharing a boat, only the renter needs to make a reservation. Society of Old Salts (S.O.S.) members continue to enjoy rental privileges and will use a coupon code at checkout to receive their discount.

Participants will sign an electronic liability waiver as part of the checkout process. Additional adult participants will sign hard copy waivers upon check-in. The hard copy waiver is site-specific and will be maintained in waiver books at each location. They’re in effect for the season.

There’s a small registration fee applied to each transaction by ACTIVE. Lakeside does not receive these fees.

During red flag conditions for boaters and other weather-related cancellations for outdoor activities, transfers to another day will be offered or refunds will be processed back to the credit card used for the purchase. Registration fees are not refundable. Lakeside’s Cancellations, Transfers and Refund Policies apply and are presented for review and signed during check-out.

Registration assistance is available from Kathy Mural, Lakeside’s Registration Coordinator, at re**********@**********io.com, by phone at (440) 589-0180 or in-person from 1-3 p.m. Sundays at the Lakeside Sailing Center and Mondays at the Rhein Center (excluding June 8-9).
