NEW! Online Registration for Private Lessons & Watercraft Rentals

Summer 2025 brings online registration enhancements for private lessons and watercraft rentals so you can book in advance, at your convenience, any time of the day. There’s no need to wait for the offices to open or stand in line. To start booking, visit lakesideohio.com/registration and click on “Private Lessons” and “Waterfront Rentals,” respectively.

These are new sections of Lakeside’s existing registration system, ACTIVE. If you registered for a Rhein Center class, recreation program or education field trip in 2024, you may use the same login information at checkout this year. If you are new to ACTIVE, simply book your lesson or rental, and an account will be created at the end of the transaction. Instructions for checking out are listed on the reservation website.

The system encompasses the entire summer season, so you can book days or weeks in advance. Private lesson bookings close a day in advance, and watercraft rentals can be booked for the same day, as available.

Sailboat, kayak and paddleboard rentals are by watercraft, so if more than one person is sharing a watercraft, only one reservation is needed. Please note that each transaction is limited to only one type of lesson or rental and one participant. This is a system safeguard designed by the software developer to manage inventory and avoid overbooking. To book additional lessons or rentals, follow the link on the confirmation page to begin a new transaction. For assistance with consolidating large orders, contact [email protected].

Society of Old Salts (S.O.S.) members continue to enjoy rental benefits and will use a coupon code at checkout to receive their discount.

Participants will sign an electronic liability waiver as part of the checkout process. Additional adult participants will sign hard copy waivers upon check-in. The hard copy waiver is site-specific and will be maintained in waiver books at each location. They are in effect for the season.

There’s a small registration fee applied to each transaction by ACTIVE. Lakeside does not receive these fees.

During red flag conditions or other weather-related cancellations, participants may choose to transfer their registration to another day or receive a refund to the credit card used for the purchase. Registration fees are not refundable. Lakeside’s “Cancellations, Transfers and Refund Policies” apply, and must be reviewed and signed during check-out.

Walk-up watercraft rentals remain an option if boats are available. Guests can also book private lessons at the Williams Tennis Campus or Grindley Aquatic & Wellness Campus Pool.

Registration assistance is available from Kathy Mural, Lakeside’s Registration Coordinator, at [email protected], by phone at 440-589-0180 or in-person from 1-3 p.m. Sundays at the Lakeside Sailing Center and Mondays at the Rhein Center through August 4, excluding June 8-9.
