With only a few weeks until the summer season, the Grindley Aquatic & Wellness Campus is nearly ready for a complete opening of its facilities on Saturday, May 26. The Wellness Center is now complete and ready for use once the fitness equipment arrives, and the swimming pool, which earned a spot in Lake Erie Living Magazine “Best Of” list for 2018 is filled with water.
“We are filling the pool a little early this year because this is the first time we are opening the pool after a winter,” said Dan Dudley, Lakeside Chautauqua CFO/COO. “We want to ensure all the equipment is working properly and that we have plenty of time to make adjustments if needed.”
Patterson Pools, who constructed the 6,000 sq ft pool for Lakeside, will be here within the next week to review all the machines and equipment. Returning and new lifeguards and pool staff will also be arriving soon for training and orientation.
In addition to the pool being prepared, the Wellness Center will open for the first time on Memorial Day weekend as well. Wellness programming is being planned and exercise equipment is on its way. We hope you plan to join us for a new wellness class this summer season.
