Service on The Lakeside Association Board of Directors

For more than 150 years, Lakeside Chautauqua has thrived because generations of dedicated volunteers, donors, staff and community leaders, all stewards of our mission, have put forth time, talent and treasure to invest in its future.

The Lakeside Association Board of Directors expects to have one vacancy for a three-year term beginning April 1, 2027. Applications will be accepted beginning through November 30, 2026. The Board will elect this new member at its February 2027 meeting. Newly elected board members will participate in Board Orientation before serving at the May 2027 Board Meeting.

The Board meets four times a year for 1-2 days at each meeting. Directors are also assigned to committees that meet periodically throughout the year. A commitment of 3-6 hours per week is expected in addition to 5-8 days of Board Meetings.

All Lakesiders who have an interest in The Lakeside Association’s governance are encouraged to apply, including leaseholders, campground residents, and all visitors and guests. The Board aspires to have Directors representative of the breadth of the Lakeside experience. The Board also values diversity of geography, age, gender, ethnicity, faith tradition and perspectives that contribute to meaningful discussion and informed decision-making.

Applicants must demonstrate a passion for the Lakeside mission, respect for the fiduciary responsibilities incumbent upon Board members, and a commitment to teamwork. Supporting Lakeside through financial generosity, each to one’s own ability, is also expected. Directors annually commit to act in good faith in their Board duties and to disclose any conflict of interest. Finally, Directors are subject to a successful background check prior to election.

All applications to be considered in this current election cycle must be received by November 30, 2026. Please note that individuals that applied, but were not selected last year, will have their applications considered again and do not need to reapply.

Applicants can find the Board Application online to print a hard copy. Applications can be submitted to Lakeside Chautauqua, Attn: The Association Board, 236 Walnut Avenue, Lakeside, Ohio 43440. Applications can also be emailed to [email protected].
