Seven Community Practices

As Lakeside celebrates its 150th Anniversary, we’re exploring seven dynamic practices that nurture a vibrant community. Our visiting speakers, preachers, artists, authors and performers will encourage us to dive deeper into and live out the essence of community. Each program and experience this summer will help you reflect, learn, explore and expand your perspective about each of the seven community practices.

To learn about the seven practices, we’ve highlighted a sampling of Chautauqua programs and experiences and a reflective moment for each. The examples and the moment will allow you to think about community, which is what Chautauqua is about. As you uncover the elements for building a vibrant community, you may find these elements and practices can be taken to your hometown. By spreading these practices, you strengthen the sense of belonging for all, creating a vibrant, thriving community.

This week, we’ll be posting community practice two reflective questions about nurturing caring relationships and creating a sense of belonging on our social media channels and lakesidernews.com for you and your family to reflect and answer together.

As you uncover the elements for building a vibrant community, you may find these elements and practices can be taken to your home community. By spreading these practices, you strengthen the sense of belonging for all, creating a vibrant, thriving community. Join the community-wide dialogue.
