Help bring the spirit of Christmas to Lakeside’s Community Christmas Dinner on Saturday, Dec. 5, by lending a nativity scene.
Inspired by the growing popularity of Nativity Festivals, including a beautiful display organized by Kate Philabaum at her church in Toledo, Lakeside hopes to one day host a festival of its own. In the meantime, this year’s dinner offers an opportunity to begin sharing the beauty and variety of nativity traditions.
Lakesiders are invited to donate nativity sets of all kinds and sizes, from miniature creches to larger, yard-size displays. Sets will be arranged throughout Wesley Lodge, including on dining tables and around the Christmas tree and fireplace.
Traditional nativity scenes, popular-culture interpretations and sets representing cultures from around the world are all welcome. The greater the variety, the more special the display will be.
Nativity sets may be taken home following the dinner or picked up well before Christmas.
How to Donate
Bring your nativity set to the Lakeside Administration Office at 236 Walnut Ave. Please attach your name and phone number to each set so it can be returned to you.
Thank you for helping bring this tradition to Wesley Lodge and adding a special touch to Lakeside’s Community Christmas Dinner.
