Since the spring of 2022, the Fountain Inn has been undergoing a series of upgrades in the off-season to enhance the experience for guests in the 1970s hotel. Among the upgrades so far:
- Repainted rooms
- Updated bathroom trim
- New bathroom sinks
- New pillows
- New bed skirts
- Updated carpet in the lobby and second and third-floor hallways
- Refresh of the Aigler Room
Now, the next phase of these upgrades is underway with the replacement of the roof. Partial funding of this replacement was backed through the Shores & Islands Ohio Destination Development Grant.
Lakeside Chautauqua is grateful to Shores & Islands Ohio for awarding us this grant and helping us complete this project, which is part of the necessary maintenance and care for the Fountain Inn. With more than 47 rooms, the Fountain Inn has been a central location for families and individuals to relax year-round.
The Destination Development Grant is a major component of Shores & Islands Ohio’s strategic plan that focuses on supporting efforts to enhance the destination for guests and residents.
This year is the second year for this matching grant program. More than $460,000 in grants were awarded to 51 businesses, organizations and communities in developing activities or projects that will attract and engage visitors, serve and educate regional tourism partners and generate economic growth for their communities and the region through travel and tourism development.
