Mill Work complete
The street contractor finished the mill work for all Phase 1 streets, including North/South and East/West to Jasmine and the 100 block of Oak Avenue. Some cleanup work is needed around the intersections.
Paving Begins for the First Course
Paving of the first of two courses will begin on Thursday, Oct. 23, weather permitting. Work will begin on Sixth Street and includes portions of the streets south of Sixth Street. Then, paving will continue on Poplar and Cherry Avenues.
Final Surface Course Work
Paving of the final surface course will begin after the first layer has been completed on all Phase 1 streets.
Safety
The length of the trucks pouring asphalt, the paver and the roller can be somewhat lengthy. Please watch the equipment and keep a safe distance. Traffic will be permitted to drive on the new asphalt fairly soon after the asphalt has been laid and rolled. There may be times you are blocked from entering and exiting driveways. The contractor will work to minimize this time and will have staff on hand to assist. Please plan accordingly.
