The Putter’s Observations of the Mini-Golf Course

DSC_2693-2Dear Friends,

The seasons are changing in Lakeside Chautauqua. Snow is falling all over the campus, especially at the miniature golf course.

I was out just the other day with my dear friend, the Bright Yellow Golf Ball.

Underneath the snow, we noticed that the concrete is sinking at the mini-golf course, and water is running into the holes. The bumpers are rotting slightly and will need to be replaced soon. Some of the obstacles are also deteriorating. I know putting greens wear quickly, and some are worn more than others at Lakeside.

As we were playing, I couldn’t believe that miniature golf has been a tradition at Lakeside for more than 50 years. It certainly is a recreational hub in Central Park.  It’s always fun to hear the cheers from families when I hit the golf ball into the hole.

#GivingTuesday a coming up, and I have set a reminder on my smartphone to invest in the future of the miniature golf course. I am giving a special gift to support enhancements to the miniature golf course on December 2, 2014.

When Lakesiders return in May, they are going to enjoy the upgrades to mini-golf. I can’t wait to hear the excitement when they see what their special gifts have contributed to this longstanding tradition.

Putting around,

Your Friend, The Putter
