Guest Preacher: The Rev. Carl Gladstone

Lakeside’s special 10 a.m. Hoover Community Worship Service on Sunday, June 10 in Hoover Auditorium will be led by the Rev. Carl Gladstone.

The Rev. Gladstone serves as regional staff of the Young People’s Ministries, North Central Jurisdictional of The United Methodist Church in Detroit, as well as the Board President for the Young Leaders Initiative.

He’s a singer/songwriter, recording artist and performer of “original acoustic music on the prophetic edge,” with projects including original albums and hymn collaborations with the texts of Charles Wesley and abolitionist hymnals of the 19th century.

The Rev. Gladstone is a United Methodist deacon who has served in youth and young adult ministries since graduating from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Ill. He’s particularly interested in the creativity and innovation that young people bring to the church and in finding ways to support young people as agents of change for the church and world.

The Lakeside Chautauqua gates are open for the worship service, and no admission or parking fees are required.
