The Mini Golf Hut is an iconic and central feature of Bettinger Park — long associated with rounds of mini golf and cherished family traditions. As a hub for recreation, the hut will expand its services to include watercraft rentals and registration for classes and private lessons this summer.
In 2025, new retail space, Docky’s Mercantile, moved into the former Watercraft Rental Center, and rentals were relocated to the Lakeside Sailing Center. Based on feedback from guests, sailors and the broader community, it became clear that a more visible location would better serve the community. As a result, these services will now be relocated to the Mini Golf Hut.
With multiple windows, proximity to the waterfront and a highly visible location, the Hut is well-positioned to enhance the recreational and registration experience. To reflect its expanded services, updated signage and bright flags will be added, and the space will be named the “Recreation & Registration Hut.” New guests will also be able to learn about the wider programming options at Lakeside.
As Lakeside continues to enhance its online registration systems, the Recreation & Registration Hut will also serve as a convenient, central location for guests seeking in-person assistance. This includes registration for recreation classes, private lessons and Rhein Center offerings. Online registration will remain available, along with in-person registration at individual program locations — ensuring flexibility and accessibility across campus.
This central Hut in Bettinger Park will remain a Lakeside tradition as young Lakesiders work their first job, families gather for mini golf and sailors sign up for rentals. Throughout this transition, genuine care for each individual and the overall guest experience remains a priority.
Special thanks to the community members and staff whose collaboration continues to strengthen the service and the Lakeside experience. Please feel free to reach out to Karyn Torigoe, V.P. of Programming, with any questions or feedback.
