Dear Lakesiders,
We begin fiscal year 2025-26 with progress on two items of current business, and we’re pleased to share next steps with you.
First, the Board of Directors of The Lakeside Association approved Management’s recommendation, through the Streets & Drainage Task Force, to accept the bid of Precision Paving, Inc. for Phase I of the streets project. The expectation is that Phase I will begin this fall, with work completed before Memorial Day weekend 2026.
Second, the Board approved Management’s recommendation to eliminate the special assessment, consistent with their mutual commitment in November to review property values post reappraisal and the impact on Lakeside’s annual assessment. After analysis, Management concluded the increase in property values renders the special assessment unnecessary because the revenue collected under the base assessment is sufficient to meet Lakeside’s projected streets and sanitary expenses. The Board and Management look forward to the implementation of these decisions.
We express gratitude to our community members who continue to donate time and talent to the Streets & Drainage Task Force and to those paving contractors who submitted bids. Precision Paving, Inc.’s home office is in Milan, Ohio. Project management will be provided by the engineering firm, Contractors Design Engineering, with home offices in Norwalk, Ohio. Lakeside is excited to work with local partners to begin its comprehensive street repaving project.
Jane Marx, The Lakeside Association, Board Chair
Charles Allen, The Lakeside Association, President and CEO.
