Preacher of the Week: The Rev. Dr. Scot Ocke

The Rev. Dr. Scot Ocke will share about unceasing prayer with the Lakeside community at the 10:30 a.m. Hoover Community Worship Service on Sunday, June 4 in Hoover Auditorium. His sermon, “Persistently Praying for Justice,” is based on Luke 18:1-8.

Prior to being appointed to Superintendent of the Maumee Watershed District in the West Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church (UMC) in 2015, the Rev. Dr. Ocke held positions at several churches, including Marysville First UMC; Grace UMC; the former Hedges Chapel, now called Village Chapel UMC in Ashville; and nine years as the Lead Pastor at Maumee UMC, where he was the Chair of the District Leadership Team.

The Rev. Dr. Ocke first felt his call to ministry at his childhood church of First UMC in his hometown of Sidney, Ohio. It was to this church that he returned as a student pastor and deacon while in seminary.
