Michael Hirsch inducted into Ohio Shuffleboard Hall of Fame

Lakeside Shuffleboard Club member Michael Hirsch has reached a significant milestone by accumulating 350 master points, which automatically qualifies him for induction into the Ohio Shuffleboard Hall of Fame.

This honor, reserved for those who have demonstrated superior performance in Ohio Shuffleboard over an extended period, recognizes his outstanding dedication and skill in the sport. The Hall of Fame aims to acknowledge individuals whose achievements and commitment set them apart within the shuffleboard community, making its membership both selective and exclusive.

Hirsch’s journey in shuffleboard began at an early age. He started shuffling at Lakeside when he was just 6 years old. For his 10th birthday, he received his first shuffleboard cue and disc set. By age 14, Hirsch was serving as a court attendant. This role gave him the opportunity to meet and learn from many of the sport’s great players, particularly during the 2006 International Tournament in Lakeside.

Hirsch’s competitive accomplishments are a testament to his talent and dedication. In 2017, he won the International Shuffleboard Tournament in Brazil. He extended his winning streak by capturing the title again at the 2018 International Tournament in St. Petersburg, Florida. These achievements on the international stage underscore his standing as a top competitor in the sport.

In addition to his shuffleboard success, Hirsch graduated from Danbury High School in 2018. He then attended The University of Toledo, where he studied mechanical engineering.

Hirsch comes from a family dedicated to the Lakeside community. His parents, Mary Ann and Dave Hirsch, serve as managers of the Lakeside Campground. Beyond shuffleboard, Hirsch is also passionate about golf and achieved his first hole-in-one last year.
