Lakeside Shuttle Service

Lakeside Chautauqua provides a free shuttle service to all guests. We have golf cart shuttles and a handicap accessible bus to transport guests throughout Lakeside. Continue reading below for more information about the Lakeside Chautauqua Shuttle Service.

Sunday Spotlight: Advancement & Communications

This year, our Advancement & Communications Department hired a new Advancement Manager and created two new positions, a Content Manager under Marketing and an Advancement & Communication Coordinator under Advancement.

In January of this year, Melissa Kunz was hired as the new Content Manager at Lakeside Chautauqua.

We also hired Jessica Kidd as the new Advancement Manager and Sarah Milheim as the new Advancement & Communications Coordinator in late May.

Annual Lakeside Wooden Boat Show & Plein Air Art Festival

A collaborative effort blending the craftsmanship of the 11th Annual Lakeside Wooden Boat Show and the artistic expression of the Lakeside Plein Air Art Festival will create one of Lakeside’s most unique weekends of the Chautauqua season from Friday, July 18- Sunday, July 20.

This three-day event begins on Friday, July 18, when participating plein air artists will paint landscapes throughout the Lakeside Chautauqua grounds, as well as in the surrounding areas. Please join the Lakeside Chautauqua community in welcoming these talented artists to the grounds.

Lakeside Wooden Boat Show community helps a dream come true

Lewis - LWBS TestimonalBob Lewis’ interest in wooden boats began when he was a young boy. He cherishes childhood memories of spending time on his father’s 1957, 16 ft. Penn Yan wooden boat.

In 2010, Bob and his wife, Susan, were in the process of restoring a 1959, 16.5 ft. Lyman Runabout when they first attended the Lakeside Wooden Boat Show.

“We wanted to see the boats and talk with other boat enthusiasts about restoration and ask advice,” said Susan. “Everyone was very willing to share.”

With recommendations in mind and months of hard work, Bob and Susan launched their fully restored wooden boat for the first time in Lake Mosquito, in Ohio, on Sept. 5, 2010.

The Pavilion is easily the most recognized landmark on the Lakeside Chautauqua grounds. Built in 1909, the Pavilion has been a symbol of Lakeside for more than 100 years. Although the building has gone through many phases, the Pavilion has always been an integral part of the Lakeside community.

Sunday Spotlight: Lakeside Leadership Academy – Education/Programming

Lakeside Chautauqua welcomed 14 Lakeside Leadership Academy (LLA) interns to the grounds in early May. Since then, they have been hard at work experiencing Lakeside, taking on challenges and advancing new projects within their work environments.

Williams Tennis Campus Upgrades

This Chautauqua season, Lakesiders will experience several upgrades made to the Williams Tennis Campus.

Lakeside Chautauqua’s tennis courts were featured in Lake Erie Living magazine in 2012 as one of the 109 greatest places to explore along the coast.

Longtime Lakesider and tennis enthusiast, Dick Hubbard, shared, “These upgrades for the 2014 summer season are an example of working together to continue to have a fabulous facility and program.”

Many of the Williams Tennis Campus improvements were completed before tennis players returned to the lake.

Fountain Inn Revitalization

Beginning in early March and April, the Fountain Inn received several notable renovations and improvements.

One of the first groups to experience the upgrades was the Church Planting Assessment Center (CPAC), introduced by Lakesiders Tom and Debbie Jones.

The 45-person group filled 22 hotel rooms and stayed at Lakeside Chautauqua in early April.

Debbie said her group “rested well” on the new mattresses, linens and bedding that were replaced in all Fountain Inn rooms. Decorative pillows and down comforters were new additions as well.

Sunday Spotlight: Finance/Human Resources

This year, our Finance Department experienced exciting changes during the off-season. Lakeside Chautauqua hired a new Chief Financial Officer, Dan Dudley, who joined the team in late May and promoted long-time Lakeside employee, Sylvia Chappell, to Vice President of Accounting.

We also hired a new employee under Human Resources. John Mann joined Lakeside in April as the new Human Resources Administrator.
