My parents took my brothers and sisters there. My wife and I took our daughter and son there. And now, our daughter and her husband have taken their three children there, too.
“There” is Lakeside, Ohio. Nurturing body, mind and spirit, it’s an ideal family vacation destination. Activities abound for youngsters through oldsters, all under the umbrella of the Chautauqua community’s four pillars, religion, recreation, arts and entertainment, and education.

The Lakeside Chautauqua community is full of many accommodations for guests. Lakeside’s six bed & breakfasts are no exception. Each offers guests something different, from a room or a suite to a full kitchen, but all offer one thing in common – a front porch.

Lakeside is grateful for and celebrates each and every volunteer for the countless hours they have given to enhance the Lakeside experience.
Bill and Charlotte Maenner are two Lakesiders who have donated their time and talents to make the Lakeside community a better place.
As the couple’s family grows, the new family motto is “Anytime that we’re together, its’ a celebration!”
Each return visit becomes a treasure hunt of discovery with continuous progress in programs, structures, gardens, cottages, businesses and opportunities to experience growth.
Volunteers are essential to the quality of the Lakeside Chautauqua experience year-round. 
From Rhein Center teachers and Hoover Auditorium greeters to Lakeside Fund Ambassadors and master gardeners, Lakeside Chautauqua extends a sincere thank you to the countless volunteers who have dedicated their time and support to the mission of Lakeside.
Lakeside especially thanks the Nurnberger family for their dedication in helping to beautify the Lakeside Chautauqua community. Four years ago, Mark and Beth Nurnberger began giving their time to the Kenton Row Garden after their friend and neighbor, Holly Gordon, enlisted their help.
