We’d like to thank those who attended this weekend’s Lakeside-Marblehead Lighthouse Festival, and especially thank our volunteers who continue to make this annual tradition a success.

Lakeside-Marblehead Lighthouse Festival Schedule of Events

Lighthouse_Festival_3The Lakeside-Marblehead Lighthouse Festival, a cherished fall tradition, will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 in Lakeside Chautauqua and throughout the Marblehead Peninsula.

This free, peninsula-wide event will include a variety of activities for the entire family to enjoy. There will be tours of the Marblehead Lighthouse, live entertainment, children’s crafts, a pumpkin-decorating contest, plein air artists, arts & crafts vendors, a farmers’ market, hayrides, sailboat rides and much more.

The Lakeside-Marblehead Lighthouse Festival is sponsored by the Marblehead Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and Lakeside Chautauqua.

Travel is the best way to experience the vast wonders of nature, and I have done my share. The verdant forests of West Virginia, the rocky mountains of Colorado, and the breath-taking vistas from Big Sur California, each are special for their own unique flora and fauna.
Nothing annoys a plant enthusiast more than golf-course grass in the middle of a dessert or palm trees in Nevada! Seriously, we should travel to experience each unique location, not to visit some homogenization of landscape or the floristic counterpart of McDonald’s fast food!

Embrace Your Faith at Lakeside

When you visit Lakeside, one of the benefits of the Chautauqua experience are the many ways to embrace your faith. Lakeside is a wonderful place to reflect and grow spiritually.

During its 10-week summer season, Lakeside Chautauqua offers ample opportunities to participate in programs within the religion pillar, one of the four pillars of the Chautauqua experience.

Attend a Sunday morning worship service at no charge with a Church Pass. Church Passes are available from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday; valid until 3 p.m. Attend a morning worship service, stay for lunch and enjoy the activities on the grounds. The pass includes admittance for guests and auto.

Administered through Lakeside Chautauqua’s Religious Life Department, there are several ways for adults, families, youth and young adults to get involved.
