We checked with the Lakeside Property Owners Association and the Historic Preservation & Design Review Board to compile a list of easy home fixes that can be done in just one weekend; so you can turn your cottage into a welcoming weekend getaway.
Volunteers are essential to the quality of the Lakeside Chautauqua experience year-round. 
From Rhein Center teachers and Hoover Auditorium greeters to Lakeside Fund Ambassadors and master gardeners, Lakeside Chautauqua extends a sincere thank you to the countless volunteers who have dedicated their time and support to the mission of Lakeside.
Lakeside especially thanks the Nurnberger family for their dedication in helping to beautify the Lakeside Chautauqua community. Four years ago, Mark and Beth Nurnberger began giving their time to the Kenton Row Garden after their friend and neighbor, Holly Gordon, enlisted their help.
This year, Lakeside Chautauqua experienced exciting changes during the off-season. We hired Susie Cantor as the newly created, Director of Staff Development.

Filled with an abundance of species, Lake Erie is one the best fishing spots in Northeastern Ohio.
Many Lakeside Chautauqua visitors like to spend their vacation fishing. Whether you’re fishing along the shore or off the dock, you’re sure to catch a bite.
Here are the top five fish in Lake Erie that you can expect to catch during your time fishing at Lakeside:
To open its 51st season, the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra (LSO) will present a concert of “Light Classics” at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, in Hoover Auditorium.
A reception will be held immediately following the concert to celebrate and meet the musicians.
Established in 1963, the LSO is one of Lakeside’s most cherished traditions. This year marks the 44th year for the Music Director, Robert Cronquist.
Bringing classical music to the Chautauqua community, the symphony performs eight concerts during its month-long residency. The LSO is made up of more than 75 musicians from across the country that have devoted many years of service to Lakeside.
A selection of popular classics and commemorative numbers will be included for the symphony’s first performance of the summer.

A Chautauqua on Lake Michigan Story
“Bay View is really home to me,” Betsy Loyd Harvey said. “When I think of going home, I go to Bay View.”

Harvey is the fifth generation of her family to spend thesummertime in Bay View, Mich., a Chautauqua on Lake Michigan.
Harvey’s great-great-grandmother first visited Bay View to breathe in clearer air when she had hay fever.
